Napoli are reported to be closing in on a deal for Bordeaux's Agrentinian striker Fernando Cavenaghi.
The 24-year-old has scored 20 goals in 33 appearances in just over a year with the Ligue 1 club, having previously struggled to make his mark with Spartak Moscow.
Cavenaghi told Il Mattino: "I know that Napoli were asking after me and that my name is on their shopping list and that fills me with pride.
"Napoli are a rejuvenated and ambitious club with a prestigious past and most of all Naples is a city that intrigues and fascinates me.
"I wouldn't be difficult to negotiate with. However, I cannot forget that I am under contract with Bordeaux and I am grateful to have a contract until 2012 and to be at a club who are having a strong season."
