Napoli and Juventus resume rivalry in Beijing

Napoli captain Paolo Cannavaro on Thursday described Italian champions Juventus as a "special opponent" as the two sides prepared to face each other in Beijing.

Cannavaro said his team were excited to be playing against Juventus in the Italian Super Cup -- which is contested between the Serie A Champions and the Coppa Italia Holders (Napoli) -- this Saturday.

"Juventus is a very special opponent. We are always excited to play against them and we are playing our best formation in preparation for this game," he told reporters at a press conference held in the Chinese capital.

The Italian Super Cup, or the Suppercoppa Italiana, is the traditional curtain raiser for the Italian season. It has become a showcase event for Serie A, having being staged outside of Italy in recent seasons.

Napoli won the Coppa Italia by beating Juventus in the final game of the 2011-12 campaign - a victory which marked the Bianconeri's only loss of the season.

The Naples side face Juventus in Beijing's National Stadium, which is also know as the 'Bird's Nest'. The stadium was the main venue for the 2008 Olympics.
