Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis has played down suggestions that Manchester United are ready to make big-money moves for on-song duo Marek Hamsik and Edinson Cavani.
Slovakia international midfield maestro Hamsik is under contract with the San Paolo-based outfit until June 2015 while Uruguay striker Cavani joined the club from Serie A rivals Palermo in the summer.
He penned a five-year deal on his arrival and Larentiis has laughed off the recent media rumours.
"I've read that Ferguson would like to buy Hamsik and Cavani for 40million euros and I started to laugh," he said.
"Unfortunately, many people don't realise that it is important to keep your best players to be able to become champions."
