Well starlet wants to stay
10 Jan 2008 - 15:46:30
Young Motherwell striker Ross McCormack has stated he wishes to stay at Fir Park.
McCormack, 21 has attracted attention from other clubs with his eight goals in 22 appearances for this season, as well as featuring for Scotland Under-21's and in a 'B' international.
Talks could soon resume over a new deal for the former Rangers striker, whose current deal expires in the summer, after a delay while the club recovers from the aftermath of club captain Phil O'Donnell's death.
McCormack told the club's official website: "I've always said that I would benefit a lot from another season or two at Motherwell to develop my game.
"Progress has been slow but peoples minds are rightly elsewhere."
O'Donnell will be remembered at Tynecastle on Saturday ahead of the cup clash with Hearts with a players' huddle in front of the visiting supporters.
