Stuart’s reward for surpassing Motherwell’s third place finish last season and establishing a new points’ record in this campaign made him one of the favourites for this honour.
He managed to fashion a side that has finished in the runners up place despite having to cope with a reduction in the playing budget. Not only that, he has nurtured a philosophy based on ‘proper football’. His teams are confident on the ball and look to pass the ball as they play from defence to attack.
He joined us following the departure of Craig Brown at the end of 2010 and took us to a Cup Final. Last season was considered a huge success but that feat was exceeded by this season’s achievement.
