Steelmen secure double deal

Motherwell sealed a double signing on transfer deadline day, bringing in Celtic striker Cillian Sheridan and Birmingham City winger Semih Aydilek.

The duo move to Fir Park on loan until the end of the season, helping to fill the gap left by Chris Porter's recent departure for Derby County.

Meanwhile, Steelmen boss Mark McGhee was pleased to see his side ease through to the fifth round of the Scottish Cup with a 3-0 victory at Inverurie Locos.

He told the club's official website: "All the teams are trying to get to the final that goes without question. We've now got St Mirren at home, which is as very tough fixture for us.

"It's a game at home against another SPL club who we've played and done well against already this season, so we'll concentrate on that.

"We can't think beyond that as you don't know who, if anyone, you're going to get. In terms of the cup, it is one game at a time and we'll hope for the best."
