Steelman snap up Malcolm

Motherwell have snapped up free agent former Rangers defender Bob Malcolm.

The 27-year-old was available on a free transfer after being released by Derby County last month and has joined the Steelman on an initial short-term deal until the end of the season.

Malcolm made over 100 appearances for Rangers before joining Derby in summer 2006.

However, he struggled to hold down a first-team place at Pride Park and made just one Premier League appearance this season prior to his release.

Malcolm will join former Ibrox team-mates Ross McCormack, Brian McLean, Stephen Hughes and Graeme Smith at Fir Park.
