Quinn sorry for sending-off
22 Oct 2008 - 07:30:40
Motherwell defender Paul Quinn has apologised for his dismissal in the 1-0 defeat at Kilmarnock last weekend.
Quinn was red-carded for a professional foul on Killie forward David Fernandez midway through the second half at Rugby Park, with Well boss Mark McGhee less than impressed by his player's actions.
Quinn told the Daily Record: "We were under no real threat until my sending-off, but the ref was correct.
"I spoke with the manager and he said 'we are better with you in the team'.
"So in future I would let the player through and just hope he misses or the keeper saves.
"We don't have a lot of players to come into the defence, so with that in mind again, I should have let him go through."
