The Fir Park treasurer will be smiling at the prospect of a third home gate against Celtic and that will, to some extent, balance the injustice in 2010 when Motherwell had three league visits to Parkhead and no post-split visit from either of the Old Firm.
This will be the last split before the SPL loses the Clydesdale Bank as its main sponsor. The uncertainty about the format of next season's competition cannot be doing anything to tempt a new name into play.
