Players deserve credit - McCall

Motherwell manager Stuart McCall praised his players for continuing to brush off their Ibrox thrashing by securing their second win in five days with a 1-0 victory over Hamilton. John Sutton's 36th-minute penalty ensured Well followed up their midweek triumph at Aberdeen and moved just two points off fourth-placed Kilmarnock in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League. Motherwell were lying in eighth spot following their 6-0 defeat by Rangers seven days earlier and in danger of seeing their top-six hopes slip away. McCall, whose team host St Mirren on Wednesday, said: "It just shows how quickly things can turn round in football. "The previous Saturday was probably the lowest I have been. But you can't afford to look back and I think the players deserve every credit for that. "The Tuesday night game, the way they played, gave us every confidence. But we knew this would be a different type of game and it proved that way. But I think we merited the points. We defended very well and our keeper hasn't had a save to make."
