Motherwell are six points clear in third and in the quarter finals of the cup as the bandwagon heads to St Mirren Park. Will we roll on or are the wheels about to come off? It is hard to know exactly what to expect in this game and this time it is down to the inconsistency of the hosts rather than us. Our form is good and confidence will be high but we will remember that in December St Mirren came to Fir Park and largely outplayed us. However, they didn't win that game and that has been their failing all season.
The likes of McGowan and McLean, though the latter is presently injured, are lovely technical players while Goodwin offers a more solid presence in the midfield. 'Keeper Samson has moved to the fringes of the Scotland squad so there are certainly some good players at Greenhill Road. The defence is a little wobbly on occasion though and while they have a good attack on paper that does not always translate into goals. From our point of view we have only squad players injured while Craigan returns from suspension. It is far from certain the captain will be recalled given the form of Clancy and Hutchinson but in case of further injury it is good to have him available. At the other end of the park Law, Murphy, Ojamaa and Higdon will be responsible for our attacking threat. This could well be an entertaining game between two footballing sides and there is no reason why we shouldn't be confident of another win. It may not be easy but hopefully we can emerge victorious again with a 2-0 success. Remember our last trip to Paisley?Sponsored links
