Next up - St Mirren

After a thumping win over one set of Saints last weekend, we now look for another heavenly result when hosting St Mirren. Can we finally bring our away form home?

Our away record his year has been little short of mind-boggling but our home results, though not dismal, are distinctly average in comparison.  We’ve won three and lose three with two games drawn and there is no doubt that our woeful scoring record (six goals in these eight matches) is the cause of our problems.  Stuart McCall suggested our tight pitch hampers our wing play but it is also possible we simply struggle against teams happy to settle for a point.

However, when ignoring visits from the Old Firm, we’ve lost only once from six home games so it is important not to go overboard.  St Mirren had an excellent point in Aberdeen from two goals down last week but this is still a game we should be looking to win.

On the injury front things are pretty healthy with Saunders being the main absentee once more.  Daley’s lively performance in Perth will surely keep him in the team at the expense of Humphrey while Law and Murphy will also be asked to provide creativity.  Higdon’s other qualities will also be in evidence once more and he will be determined to do well against his old team.

St Mirren haven’t won in three games and this has seen them drop out of the top six.  They had previously been doing well though and Danny Lennon will be anxious to return to the top half as soon as possible.  The sides may cancel each other out to an extent and though we’d love a win, share of the spoils in a 1-1 draw may well be the outcome.

Remember the last time St Mirren visited?
