New keeper for Steelmen

Motherwell have snared West Brom goalkeeper Luke Daniels on loan until the beginning of May.

The 20-year-old has failed to make a first-team appearance for the Baggies although he has been an unused substitute on 20 occasions.

Daniels told the Steelmen's official website: "I came up for a few days a couple of weeks ago and settled in quite well.

"I started at Manchester United for a while as a youth then moved to West Brom where I was for three-and-a-half years.

"I got the opportunity to come up here and hopefully I'll get some good experience and we'll see where I go from there.

"I've come up to battle with Graeme Smith for the number one shirt. He's a very good goalkeeper and I'll have to work hard to get a sniff but to have competition at the club is healthy for everyone.

"Tony Mowbray, my old boss at West Brom, told me about the league and gave me some hints and tips about what to expect. He was positive about this club too so I'm looking forward to the challenges ahead."
