Working hard is the key - Liam Grimshaw

Midfielder Jake Taylor returns from suspension for Motherwell's Ladbrokes Premiership game against Ross County at Fir Park on Saturday.

Utility player Liam Grimshaw will be added to the squad after his loan move from Manchester United.

Striker Wes Fletcher is on his way back from an ankle injury and is not far off while midfielder Stephen Pearson (knee) is still out but improving.

Manchester United and Motherwell are exactly the same when it comes to the principles of football, according to Fir Park loanee Grimshaw.

The 20-year-old utility player made the six-month loan move to Ian Baraclough's side from Old Trafford where he captained the under-21 side.

Signed as a professional by former United boss Sir Alex Ferguson and having worked under former academy manager Brian McClair, now performance director at the Scottish FA, Grimshaw was taught to believe the path to success in football at all levels is fundamentally the same.

Ahead of the Ladbrokes Premiership game against Ross County at Fir Park on Saturday, when asked what it felt like moving from a football institution to a club in Scotland, he said: "It is different but all the principles are the same. If you work hard and do your best then you won't go far wrong. That is it, basically.

"Whether it is a big training ground or training wherever, all principles are the same.

"They teach you that at Man United. Whether you play in the Champions League final or playing on a Sunday with your mates, they want you to be the same person and player, wherever you are playing.

"I have been at Man United since I was eight or nine and come right the way through.

"My first pro contract was from Sir Alex. He was a big influence in me coming through because he had the culture at the club where it was like a big family really.

"He was brilliant, superb, but not just with the players, with everyone, all the staff, whether they were working in the kitchen or in security.

"Everyone was in it together and wanted the team to win.

"Brian McClair was there the whole time I was there. I get on well with Brian and I think he will do well with Scotland.

"I spoke to him and he said it would be a good experience for me to come up here to try to improve.

"Hopefully, all my experiences at Manchester United should benefit me.

"I have been around the world with them and I have grown up there and hopefully that will stand me in good stead playing up here."

Ross County midfielder Rocco Quinn has welcomed the addition of Martin Woods to Jim McIntyre's experienced squad.

McIntyre added 10 new players to his squad over the summer but still jumped at the chance to bring Woods back to Dingwall on transfer deadline day.

The 29-year-old midfielder had left for Shrewsbury in the close season but decided to return to Scotland for family reasons and chose County ahead of other Ladbrokes Premiership teams.

County have shaken off the tag of slow-starters and look set for their best season yet - and they can consolidate their top-six place when they face Motherwell at Fir Park on Saturday with Woods in the squad.

Quinn said: "It's a great signing. Obviously Woodsy was here last year, he's a top player and he's a great guy to have around the changing room as well. The boys are all delighted he has signed up.

"We have signed a lot of experienced boys and the boys that were already here have many, many years under their belts. There are younger boys here as well but we have a lot of experience."

McIntyre's side have taken 10 points from their opening six games to continue the form that took them off the foot of the table and away from relegation danger in the second half of last season.

"It's been a great start," Quinn said. "As a squad we have set out objectives with the manager and coaching staff and we have met those objectives.

"There is a confidence and belief that we can go away to teams and give them a real, hard time."
