Motherwell manager Ian Baraclough hints at several new signings

Motherwell manager Ian Baraclough could make several new signings before Tuesday's transfer deadline.

Motherwell could have a new addition before Saturday's Ladbrokes Premiership clash with Kilmarnock after advanced talks with former Derby and Doncaster striker Theo Robinson.

And owner Les Hutchison has given Baraclough the go-ahead to further add to his squad with a midfielder a priority amid the absence of the injured Stephen Pearson.

"We are hopefully close on one definite one and we are still working away on a couple of others," Baraclough said.

"So if there is scope there within the budget we will go and do it."

Baraclough had seemingly completed his squad when Jake Taylor joined on loan from Reading, although he is suspended for the visit of Killie.

Baraclough said: "It only takes a couple of injuries which you are going to pick up throughout the season.

"There is good competition but areas that are crucial, the middle of the park, has been something that I wanted to strengthen.

"It's difficult to make up for the loss of Stephen Pearson and I think the boys in there need a little help."

Motherwell will assess the fitness of defender Steven Hammell (back) and striker Wes Fletcher (ankle) as they push to return for the encounter with Kilmarnock.

Midfielder Jake Taylor is suspended following his red card against St Johnstone last weekend. Fellow midfielder Stephen Pearson (knee) is definitely out.

Kilmarnock manager Gary Locke has no fresh injuries to contend with. Darryl Westlake returned to claim a place on the bench in the midweek League Cup win over Berwick but Mark Connolly and Lee McCulloch missed the match after limping off against Ross County last week.

Chris Johnston (knee), Scott Robinson (hamstring) and Dale Carrick (hamstring) remain out.

Kilmarnock striker Josh Magennis insists the fan behind the incredible online rant which has became an internet sensation is "poison".

Magennis hit back at raging Rugby Park season-ticket holder Gordon Sawers after the 37-year-old posted a scathing six-minute-long attack on Twitter and Facebook blasting his team.

The expletive-filled video was uploaded following last weekend's 4-0 thrashing by Ross County and has been viewed more than 100,000 times.

During his astonishing tirade at boss Gary Locke and his players, the former Killie youth-team player barked: "It isnae f****** good enough".

He also claimed the squad needed to train harder before berating them for "eating fry-ups and f****** pies instead of bananas and porridge".

But frontman Magennis dismissed the attack from Sawers - who also went on a local radio station to continue his criticism.

Hitting back, the Northern Irishman said: "For me, those kind of people are not fans. If they want to do that, then to me they are poison.

"They pay their money so all due respect. But then they get airtime on the radio and it just gets promoted. For me, people like that are irrelevant to my life.

"If you listen to that kind of stuff and you take it on board, you are not a footballer. For me, that just goes in one ear and out the other."
