Motherwell to host an Open meeting for fans

20 January 2011 09:27
Motherwell will host an open meeting on Monday evening about the future of the game in Scotland. Vice chairman Derek Weir and Chief Executive Leeann Dempster are keen to share opinions with fans in the Cooper Suite from 7pm. This welcome initiative, organised in cooperation with the Supporters Trust, is believed to be the first opportunity for fans of any SPL club to put questions to their club’s board regarding the current restructuring debate.  Supporters will welcome the initiative though many will note that the views of fans should have been ascertained before the latest plans were hatched, not as an afterthought. The discussion will not be restricted to the SPL’s consideration of the size of the top division.  Topics such as the match day experience at Fir Park, summer football, kick off times, alcohol at matches, admission prices, the McLeish report and the system of administration of the Scottish game will all be up for discussion. Fans are encouraged to offer questions in advance of the meeting to help organisation on the night.  Questions should be sent to splmeeting@mstonline.net.  The meeting is open to all Motherwell fans and Trust members can guarantee entry to this first come first served event by giving the Trust notice at members@mstonline.net.
