Motherwell soon to sign Tim Clancy

Motherwell are about to sign Tim Clancy from Kilmarnock according to BBC Sport. The 27 year old right back will join for the rest of the season and he'll fill the gap caused by the absence of Steven Saunders. The 5' 11" Irish defender has been with Kilmarnock since 2007 and made 25 appearances for them last season.  His only game so far this term was in the opener when they drew 1-1 with Dundee United. Early thoughts from Killie fans suggest that they are sorry to lose him and he goes with their best wishes.   Our need for a right back followed the injury to Steven Saunders in the recent Scotland U21 game.  He’ll be out for the rest of the season. The signing will mean that the manager has the option of moving Tom Hateley up a slot into the right midfield position.  Tom has scored twice this season and he’ll be hoping that a run in a more attacking position might offer the chance to add to his tally. McCall was asked after the Clyde game why he had not rested Hateley.  The answer was immediate, "I haven't got any other right backs!". It’s likely he’ll be in the squad for the game at Dunfermline on Saturday.
