McLean close to Well return

Motherwell could welcome Brian McLean back from a long-term knee injury before the end of the season.

The 22-year-old defender has been sidelined since damaging knee ligaments in September, but has set his sights on an April return to first-team action.

"At the moment I am feeling really good," he told the club's website.

"I have some aches and pains, but that is down to the fact that there was a graft from my good knee to help repair the damaged one.

"If there are no major problems I aim to get 45 minutes to an hour in the reserve game with Rangers on 10 April, and then play the next reserve game after that and be available for selection by the end of April for the first team."
