Motherwell boss Mark McGhee has told Steven McGarry to accept the fact that he was substituted after just 27 minutes on the pitch during the 2-0 defeat at Dundee United.
McGarry was replaced as the Steelmen looked for an equaliser at Tannadice and the former St Mirren star was less than impressed by McGhee's decision.
McGhee told the club's official website: "McGarry came on and he didn't go off because he'd done badly, he came off because we'd lost a goal and we were looking to be as attacking as possible.
"Unfortunately we decided he was the one to come off, he was embarrassed and he was upset.
"But I had a go at him in the dressing room and he has to accept these are the right decisions for the team. He's had a terrific season and he'll contribute again in the weeks ahead."
