McGhee keen to add to squad
14 Nov 2008 - 16:19:43
Motherwell manager Mark McGhee has hinted that there could be a few changes to his squad in the January transfer window.
Sheffield United have been watching Chris Porter, whose current Fir Park contract expires at the end of this season, as does those of Graeme Smith, Stephen Hughes and Bob Malcolm.
McGhee said: "We had a massive bid for Mark Reynolds which we didn't take. If he'd insisted on going, we probably would have had to take it.
"If any bid comes in for any player, we'll discuss it with them, and if they're determined to leave, they'll leave. If not, they'll stay.
"We've got some good players left here - David Clarkson, Jamie Murphy is waiting to get back in the team and show what he can do and Bob McHugh has done really well for the youth team.
"We're looking to add to the squad as we were in the summer. We tried and one or two we didn't manage to get. It might be the same, we're all chasing the same players."
