McCall wants `Well to show spirit

Motherwell manager Stuart McCall has urged his players to repeat their Pittodrie passion against Hamilton after experiencing a "mild" Lanarkshire derby debut. McCall's first match in charge was a goalless draw at New Douglas Park on New Year's Day with little action of note. The former Everton and Rangers midfielder has played in some of the world's most high-profile derby matches so it was perhaps unsurprising he was underwhelmed by the encounter. But he feels his players will need to show the determination they displayed when bouncing back from their 6-0 defeat by Rangers and the loss of an early goal at Aberdeen to beat the Dons 2-1. "I thought at their place it was quite mild but I think the lads were just getting used to us," said McCall. "It's always a tough, tight affair against them but we will be looking to come out on top. You`ve got to be strong and brave."
