McCall relishing cup spotlight

Motherwell manager Stuart McCall is keen for his players to take centre-stage when he faces former club Rangers in the Co-operative Insurance Cup semi-finals on Sunday. McCall will go head-to-head with former manager Walter Smith and team-mate Ally McCoist at Hampden, just one month into his Motherwell reign. The former Scotland midfielder won 11 major honours with Rangers under Smith but he was quick to downplay his Ibrox links ahead of Motherwell's first trip to Hampden for five years. McCall said: "Obviously people make more of it being Rangers but it's not about me, it's about the players who have got us where we are and obviously the fans going to Hampden for the first time in a long time. "I just want to make sure that the boys go out and make a good account of themselves. I don't want the young boys to freeze, I want them to really grasp the occasion and play the game and not be worried about what's going on about you or waving at your girlfriend in the stand. "Just go and do your best, don't come off with any regrets. I believe we have players who, if they are at the top of their game, can cause Rangers problems, but we have all got to be at our peak."
