McCall relieved with victory

Motherwell boss Stuart McCall was relieved to savour his first SPL win as manager as the home side ended a run of eight league games without victory by beating Hibernian 2-0. Headed goals from Jamie Murphy and Steven Saunders midway through the first half at Fir Park earned Motherwell the points as Hibs failed to bounce back from their Scottish Cup defeat by Ayr. McCall said: "People talk about Hibs going through a bad run but that was almost 10 weeks of SPL football without a win so there was a lot of pressure on us. "We worked on set-pieces and delivered two great balls. We were fortunate with the penalty being missed but we dogged it out. "It wasn't a classic but there a lot of ways to win football games."
