McCall gutted after Killie defeat

Motherwell boss Stuart McCall believes Kilmarnock's late winner in their Clydesdale Bank Premier League clash at Fir Park made him feel worse than Sunday's Co-operative Insurance Cup semi-final defeat by Rangers at Hampden. The Steelmen responded well to the Hampden disappointment as they dominated large parts of the game against Killie in a match played in atrocious conditions. However, they suffered a blow in the 81st minute when Rugby Park substitute David Silva, on for Willy Aubameyang, headed in the winner from close range from Tim Clancy's cross. Killie skipper Garry Hay then picked up a straight red card for a foul on Chris Humphrey but the visitors held out to leave McCall gutted. He said: "I thought Sunday was bad but this was a real sore one to take. I find it really difficult to believe we lost the game. I have only seen Kilmarnock once and people were telling me how good some of their players are - and they are - but we snuffed out any threat they had. "Our commitment and desire was good but the end result was a real sore one to take. I don't think anyone who was at the game would say that we deserved to lose the game. Even a point would have been a disappointment if I'm honest."
