McCall frustrated by Well

Motherwell manager Stuart McCall hit out at his players' lack of belief after their uninspired second-half display in a 3-1 Clydesdale Bank Premier League defeat by Kilmarnock. Motherwell were not helped by a controversial penalty award by Mike Tumilty, which turned the match in Kilmarnock's favour just before the break, or fresh injuries to Stevie Hammell, Francis Jeffers and Steven Saunders. But McCall was disappointed with the way his side conceded the goals and their failure to put Kilmarnock under pressure after Liam Kelly headed the final goal six minutes after the break. John Sutton had given Motherwell a 15th-minute lead when he converted Chris Humphrey's low cross but Manuel Pascali headed a 23rd-minute leveller after Alexei Eremenko crossed again following a half-cleared corner. Tumilty penalised Gavin Gunning for an aerial challenge on Pascali to allow Jamie Hamill to net from 12 yards and Kelly beat Darren Randolph to Eremenko's near-post corner. McCall said: "I have talked about inconsistency since I've been at the club, we saw that in two halves today. We scored an excellent goal and played well in the first half but we have lost three goals to set-pieces." He added: "When you get beat from a simple corner-kick, it's not good enough, especially with the height we have in the team."
