McCall disgusted by Lennon threats

Motherwell manager Stuart McCall believes it is a disgrace that his Celtic counterpart Neil Lennon goes into Sunday's Old Firm game at Ibrox carrying the burden of being the target of a parcel bomb threat. Tensions are running high ahead of the last Glasgow derby of the season as Strathclyde Police carry out an investigation after devices "designed to cause harm" were sent to Lennon, Paul McBride QC and Labour politician Trish Godman. However, McCall, who played for Rangers between 1991 and 1998, does not believe Old Firm passions have crossed the line - because it has nothing to do with football. "It is a disgrace," said McCall. "It was terrible to hear it all coming out the other day. You feel for Neil Lennon and his family. "You just want the person or people who has been doing these things to get caught. It is not good for football and it is deplorable to hear. "You know how wrong it is and you just want the people who have committed these vile acts to get caught and punished accordingly. But I don't think it is anything to do with football. I don't know what it is but it is criminal. "People going to the trouble of doing what they have been doing, it is not worth talking about with regards giving them any more publicity. The sooner they are caught the better."
