Jefferies praises McCall approach

Hearts manager Jim Jefferies believes Stuart McCall has instilled his own competitive edge in his Motherwell side since taking charge at Fir Park. Hearts take on Motherwell at Tynecastle on Saturday, with McCall's men seeking to confirm their place in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League's top six in their final match before the split. Only Inverness can displace them, with Caley Thistle seven points adrift with two games in hand and facing Celtic in Saturday's lunchtime kick-off. Jefferies, who managed McCall at Bradford over a decade ago, has quickly conveyed his determination to his Well side since succeeding Craig Brown as boss, with five wins in their last eight SPL games. "He's only just starting now to put his stamp on it and I think they've been on a great run recently," the Hearts boss said. "He's very, very competitive and wants to win all the time. "He'll certainly get that message across because that's the type of player he was."
