Iain Vigurs joins the Mighty 'Well

Motherwell took another step in the rebuilding process with the announcement that Iain Vigurs has joined the club on a two year contract.

Vigurs has had an impressive season with Ross County and he'll take up the wide left midfield position in our new look team for the forthcoming campaign.  He’s 25 and came close to joining Oldham Athletic but the move ended following discussions last week.

He scored 9 goals for County last season and has a reputation as a free kick specialist and a a good distributor.

McCall started his summer signing spree by catching another former Staggie, Paul Lawson.  Both players are held in high regard by fans of their former club and there’s every reason to suspect that they will do well at Fir Park.

Scott Burns is reporting that we've made an offer to Faroe Islands international keeper Gunnar Nielsen.  The building process continues.

The first team squad now seems to be...

Goalkeeper: Lee Hollis

Defenders: Stevie Hammell, Simon Ramsden, Shaun Hutchinson, Fraser Kerr, Zaine Francis-Angol, Adam Cummins

Midfield: (Tom Hateley), Keith Lasley, Stuart Carswell, Paul Lawson, Iain Vigurs

Forwards: (Michael Higdon), Bob McHugh, (James McFadden)
