Hughes ready to return

Motherwell midfielder Stephen Hughes is hoping to be back in action after the international break, having suffered a hamstring injury against Celtic at the end of October.

The 25-year-old former Rangers and Leicester City schemer is ready to return to full training after the weekend and is hopeful of being able to face Kilmarnock next Saturday.

He told the club's official website: "I got the problem when I went full stretch for a ball and I felt the hamstring tighten up straight away.

"I tried to play on and run it off, but it became clear pretty quick that I wasn't going to be able to as I had done some damage.

"I think I am well on the way to being ready for the Killie game. I'll be stepping up my running this week and come next Monday, I will be back in full training."
