Recent Motherwell recruit Stephen Hughes is hoping the switch to Fir Park will get his career back on track.
The 24-year-old former Rangers midfielder has returned to Scotland after two-and-a-half years at Leicester City, having penned a two-year contract with the Steelmen on transfer deadline day.
Hughes told the Wishaw Press: "I spoke to Mark McGhee before I came here and I thought this would be a good place for me to move forward at the right stage of my career.
"I chose Motherwell because I know the manager has a good reputation down south and I've heard good things about him. You just need to look at the league table.
"That played a big part for me because the team has had a really good start to the season compared to last year.
"They seem to be going the right way and it would be good to be part of that."
