Hamilton - 24h on

What a difference a week makes! Seven days ago we were still reeling from the shock of the heavy defeat at Ibrox. Now we can take heart from wins over Aberdeen and Hamilton. The key to the win over Hamilton was the boost that the team got with the triumph in Aberdeen.  The confidence drawn from overturning the loss of an early goal meant that we could face a desperate Accies side safe in the knowledge that we had the beating of them. The visitors played their usual physical game but we matched them.  Jennings and Lasley battled in midfield and Hutchision in particular is worthy of a mention for his dominance at the back.  Gunning delivered his best showing so far in claret and amber.  His pace should prove to be a real asset in attack.  It was evident early on when he showed our fans in the East Stand a fine burst of speed that left a couple of Hamilton defenders for dead. Forbes tries his luck Another pleasing aspect was that we recorded another clean sheet.  Randolph now has fifteen to his name.  He and his defensive team can take a bow. Stuart McCall was quick with his post-match email to fans.  The classical route for a manager to speak to fans has been via a column in the match day programme but this use of new technology makes the process much more personal.  There will be times when it will be difficult for him to send a positive message (for example, following the game last Saturday!) but fans will appreciate his efforts. We have another rearranged fixture on Wednesday when St Mirren arrive for the second of three home games in eight days.  It was a year ago (February 2010) when we last managed a run of three consecutive league wins and we were also fifth in the table at that time.
