Goal plans for Hughes

After grabbing his second goal for Motherwell on Saturday, midfielder Stephen Hughes has set his sights on becoming a regular fixture on the Fir Park scoresheet.

The former Rangers man bagged the equaliser against St Mirren at the weekend to earn the Steelmen a Scottish Cup fifth round replay at St Mirren Park.

"Hopefully that one will be the first of many and I can pitch in with a few more before the end of the season," Hughes told the club's official website.

"The gaffer (Mark McGhee) and Scott Leitch have told me that I need to add goals to my game and it is something that I know I need to work on.

"The ball just dropped for me and it was a matter of keeping it on target and hitting the back of the net. Thankfully I did."
