Forbes eyeing more of the same

Motherwell midfielder Ross Forbes believes their impressive victory at Aberdeen can kick-start a top-six push - if they produce the same performance against Hamilton. Motherwell fought back impressively from the loss of a second-minute goal to win 2-1 at Pittodrie on Tuesday thanks to goals from Francis Jeffers and Jamie Murphy. The victory moved Motherwell up three places to fifth in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League and was only their second in the SPL in three months. Stuart McCall's team now look to beat bottom club Accies for the first time this season and Forbes feels they must take their Pittodrie form into the Fir Park derby. "I think we can take massive amounts of confidence," the 21-year-old said. "It's a very hard place to go and the boys were right up for it, and it's good to take a win into the derby game. "We'll be going all out for the three points but we'll need to play as well as we did on Tuesday night to get the three points. We have drawn against them and got beat this season at home so it adds an extra edge. "We need to win to prove a point. Even though they are the bottom team, that goes out the window for a derby game. We will be looking to cement our place in the top six and hopefully stay there for the rest of the season."
