Foran eyes league goals

Motherwell striker Richie Foran is hoping to carry his CIS Cup form into the league after netting a hat-trick in Wednesday's 3-0 win at Queens Park.

The treble took Foran's tally in the competition this season to five, but he is yet to find the target in the SPL for the rock-bottom Steelmen.

The Irishman told the Daily Record: "The boys are giving me stick in the dressing room, saying I only perform in the cup.

"I'm delighted as it's my first senior hat-trick, but I would trade those goals for a 1-0 win and some points in the league.

"This competition has been good to us as we've reached a final and a semi in the past two years and now we are in the quarters.

"But the SPL is our bread and butter and we need to pick up points, starting at Dundee United this weekend."
