Ten years ago this week two of groups of Motherwell fans played a match on the artificial pitch at Fir Park. Fir Park Corner FC grew out of that meeting and they are still going strong today. Here's an update on their progress from Davie Tonner. Fir Park Corner FC are celebrating their tenth anniversary year in style with their best ever on-field season, currently sitting top of both the Scottish and British IFA League tables.  With a handful of matches left and a British Cup quarter final to look forward to, this could yet turn out be a fitting highlight to manager David Fraser’s seven years at the helm. Since beefing up the squad and improving training facilities in 2009, Fraz has sought to better the second place in the league achieved in each of the last four seasons, and it looks like this could be his year.  FPCFC have always had a reputation as a popular and hospitable member of the Internet Football Association fraternity, travelling the length of the UK on occasion to fulfil tournament and cup fixtures.  Trips in the last two seasons have included Liverpool, Leeds, Watford, Nottingham, Sheffield and Wimbledon, with more wins than defeats, and in 2009 the club lifted their first ever silverware when they brought home the Merseyside Cup. A settled squad of talented and dedicated ‘Well fans, with a great mix of younger and more experienced players, has really allowed the lads to push on in recent seasons from those early days of 17 – 0 defeats!  With key matches either side of Motherwell’s Hampden Final date, it could yet turn out to be a dream double for Motherwell’s two best football teams.
