Craigan slams dire Steelmen
23 Apr 2007 - 11:52:32
Motherwell captain Stephen Craigan has apologised to the fans who travelled to watch the Steelmen produce an insipid display in the 2-0 defeat at Inverness Caley Thistle.
Maurice Malpas' side turned in one of their limpest performances of the season at the Caledonian Stadium and Craigan admitted they deserved absolutely nothing from the game.
He told the Daily Record: "We all have to have a look at ourselves because it's simply not good enough.
"We had around 150 supporters travelling all the way up and I know they will be gutted.
"We have to try to give them something to shout about. You've got to make things work when you go out on the park. But this was very poor.
"We're angry in ourselves and we've got to prove we're better football players than that.
"We've got four games left to do it and if everyone builds up that little bit of anger and takes it on to the park then we'll do something."
