Clarkson keen to impress

Motherwell striker David Clarkson hopes he can win a place on the substitute's bench for Scotland's World Cup qualifiers against the Netherlands and Iceland.

The 23-year-old striker has made two substitute appearances for his country in the last 12 months and is keen to add to his international experience.

He said: "I'm looking forward to the games against Holland and Iceland. It's always good to be involved in the squad and these games are no different so I'm looking forward to going away.

"I've not played a lot, played against Czech Republic, came on against Argentina for a while but I'm happy to be involved.

"Hopefully at one point I can get on the bench and get some playing time as well."
