Brown keen on Ruddy deal

Motherwell manager Craig Brown is hoping to be able to secure a permanent deal for on-loan goalkeeper John Ruddy.

The 23-year-old Everton gloveman has impressed since moving to Fir Park at the start of the season and Brown would like to sign Ruddy up to stay beyond the end of the current campaign.

He said: "We have looked at other keepers, but they're not as good as John.

"He enjoys playing for Motherwell, we have spoken to him and he loves it here.

"But he's not our player, he is Everton's. David Moyes has other good keepers and it's up to him to decide what he wants to do.

"We would hope to keep him, although it will probably be a few months before we could sort anything out."
