Brown desperate for recruits

Motherwell boss Craig Brown says that his club desperately need to make a number of new signings this summer to build on the progress made during the second half of the season just ended.

Brown guided the Steelmen to fifth place in the SPL after replacing Jim Gannon, but is aware that fresh faces are needed for further progress.

He told the Wishaw Press: "We need far more players to compete next year, especially when there are so many good quality players that won't be here.

"I think there is potential for a good season but we need players. Even with the squad we had this season we would need more players.

"We were lucky with injuries and suspensions, as we had the best disciplinary record in the league."
