Brown always believed in Well
11 Mar 2010 - 14:11:06
Motherwell manager Craig Brown says that he was convinced from the start of his reign that the Steelmen would quickly move away from the wrong end of the SPL table.
Since taking charge just after Christmas, Brown has guided his side to an 11-game unbeaten run in the league, with Well possibly able to move up to third place in the table if they win at home to Hearts this weekend.
Brown told the Wishaw Press: "The first game I saw I felt there is no way they are relegation material.
"We got here on the Tuesday and played Hearts on the Wednesday. We were not officially in charge, but I thought we were very unlucky to lose at Tynecastle.
"We beat Kilmarnock 3-0 away in the next game and that confirmed the belief Archie (Knox) and I had.
"This Saturday against Hearts will be a big game. We are still ahead of them and if we can stretch that lead then it will be a very satisfying position for us to be in."
