The Fir Park pitch has not had a glowing press in the last few years and despite a massive investment before the start of the season it has suffered again over the hard winter. The latest steps in its recovery are underway. An examination of the surface reveals that it remains perfectly playable though far from pretty.  It is firm, smooth, and much better that it was a year ago when it was littered with dry, crumbling divots.  Unfortunately it is embarrassingly short of grass.   Lots of grass on 30 November 2010 Let’s hope that some pictures at the end of March reveal a transformation.
