Morton beat visitors Dunfermline to move five points clear of First Division bottom club Airdrie United. The home side took the lead after 28 minutes when Peter Weatherson headed home Jim McAlister's cross. Captain Stewart Greacen put Morton further ahead three minutes into the second half with a close range shot from Kevin Finlayson's corner.
