Lee Kilday missing for Morton with ankle injury

Morton will be without captain skipper Lee Kilday for the Betfred Cup tie against Dundee United after he suffered an ankle injury during Saturday's 2-1 win over Dunfermline.

Injuries also rule out Derek Gaston (ankle), Conor Pepper (knee), Ricki Lamie (hamstring) and Michael Tidser (knee) but Mark Russell is available again after suspension.

Manager Jim Duffy said: "We will need to piece together a team as our resources are stretched really thinly. We are in good heart after a fine performance and win at the weekend.

"Dundee United will be looking to bounce back after losing to Falkirk at the weekend but if we play like we did on Saturday then we have a chance."

Dundee United have a major doubt over Willo Flood who picked up an injury in Saturday's 3-1 defeat at the Falkirk Stadium.

Paul Dixon is available after a ban with manager Ray McKinnon telling his men to shrug off that disappointment.

He said: "We deserved a draw and would have got one was it not for two late sucker-punches. We have to move on from it quickly and having this game is a great way to do that in.

"We played really well in the last round to defeat Partick Thistle and we will need a similar performance to that as Morton will be flying after beating Dunfermline."
