Morton 0-1 Dundee: Match Report

11 December 2010 23:16
Lockwood spot on for Dundee Matt Lockwood's 65th minute penalty snatched Dundee a welcome 1-0 win over struggling Morton. Morton, who were ninth prior to kick-off, matched a Dark Blues side which is currently pushing for promotion in the First Division in the first half. Brian Graham went close just before the break, but his close-range header was tipped over by the acrobatic Rab Douglas in the Dundee net. The second half began in similar fashion with Morton seeking a goal to lift the home support. It failed to materialise and the tide soon changed. Stephen O'Donnell was brought down in the box and Lockwood stepped up and slotted home with ease. Dundee pushed for a second to kill the game, but Stewart Kean's clean finish was frustratingly ruled out by the linesman's flag. In the end it did not matter as Dundee held on for three vital points which moved them into third spot.
