Stanley adds to Shrimps' woes

Morecambe midfielder Craig Stanley faces two months on the sidelines after picking up a metatarsal injury in Tuesday's 1-1 draw against Lincoln City.

The 25-year-old former Hereford United star had to limp out of the match in the 70th minute and his absence is of concern to Shrimps boss Sammy McIlroy.

He said: "It's really bad news for us because Craig has been excellent this season.

"His set-pieces have been behind many of our goals and he's linked up well in midfield with Stewart Drummond and Fraser McLachlan.

"It's soul destroying for everyone at the club at the moment but the lads are giving us absolutely everything."
