Stalemate at Globe Arena

Morecambe and Rotherham produced an entertaining goalless draw in the first ever league encounter at the Globe Arena. Both sides had chances to win the game and both hit the woodwork in an exciting second half. Adam Le Fondre hit the post from 25 yards after 48 minutes and Morecambe defender Chris McCready also hit the woodwork 12 minutes from time with a header from Adam Rundle's right-wing corner. Rotherham also went close with Barry Roche saving superbly from Kevin Ellison after the Shrimps saw Phil Jevons and Adam Rundle come close in the first half. Both sides pushed for the winner but some excellent defending it to a stalemate.
