Smith agrees Shrimps switch

Morecambe have agreed an initial month-long loan deal for Plymouth Argyle midfielder Dan Smith.

The 19-year-old has made just a couple of first-team appearances for the Pilgrims to date and could earn a longer stay with the Shrimps if he impresses at Christie Park.

Argyle boss Paul Sturrock told his club's official website: "I am pleased because the lad would have stagnated here.

"He will now have the great benefit of playing competitive games, which will mean he has an edge to him and we will keep close tabs on him."
