Shrimps transfer embargo lifted

The Shrimps were put under embargo at the start of the year after they spent more than 60% of their turnover on player wages. But after the recent sale of their Christie Park ground to Sainsbury's, the club have been allowed to venture back into the transfer market, Vice-chairman Graham Hodgson said: "We have been in discussion with the Football League for a few weeks about lifting the embargo but it has taken a while because a number of considerations had to be taken into account. "We have now heard that the embargo has been lifted and we are delighted. "We have liaised with manager Sammy McIlroy on a daily basis and he has been working hard on identifying a midfield player to come in on loan which hopefully we can now finalise."
