Shrimps suffer injury woe

Morecambe's joy at dumping Preston out of the Carling Cup on Tuesday night has been tempered by the news that midfielder Fraser McLachlan suffered a broken leg during the 2-1 first round victory.
The 24-year-old was stretchered off on the stroke of half-time and scans have revealed a fracture of the left tibia.
"The injury could keep him sidelined for the majority of the season but, despite this, he is in good spirits and would like to thank everyone for the messages of support he has received," read a club statement.
McLachlan joined the Shrimps from Mansfield last summer following a loan spell at Christie Park.
