Morecambe have broken their transfer record to sign midfielder Carl Baker from Southport.
The Shrimps broke their previous record of £25,000 to land the 24-year-old, who scored 12 goals from midfield despite Southport being relegated from the Conference last season.
Meanwhile, the League Two new boys have also added experienced defender David Artell to their ranks.
The 26-year-old was released by Chester City at the end of last season.
"Baker is an exciting player who will be a real addition to our squad," manager Sammy McIlroy told the club's official website.
"He is a terrific player who has great feet and vision and can play in several positions and I am delighted to have secured his services."
